Poetry: “Trumped”

I’ll give you a hint: not a fan.

I wrote “Trumped” in 2015, several months before Trump became president. I didn’t want to believe that he would actually get elected, but my gut said…yup, that’ll be a sad day in America. Understatement, much? If he’s your president, that’s your business, but I don’t support him. To each her own.

Empowered enemy

Elliptical eloquence

Efferent elocution

Erroneous election

Unsavory riddle

Unsolvable puzzle

Uneducated guess

Unresolved mess

Optical illusion

Operatic confusion

Operative effusion

Opulent collusion

Erudite ignorance

Eradicated innocence

Filtered bewilderment

We feel

Guileless grief

Absent relief

Misplaced belief

Weapons release

Strap on the piece

Wars unleash

Elusive peace
