Humorous erotica — now that sounds up my alley. I bought a copy of To All The Penises I’ve Ever Known by Lori Schafer on Amazon Kindle yesterday. The book sample made me laugh out loud before the end of the first page — that feat alone convinced me to satiate my curiosity (and at 99 cents, the price is right to persuade me to try a new author). Right now I’m about 100 pages into the paperback version of campy cult classic Valley of the Dolls by Jacqueline Susann; as soon as I finish it, I’m boarding the Lori Schafer train.

Ranging in style from funny to filthy, this collection features author commentary on selected stories and my open letter to you-know-who.

  1. This author gets kudos for a great title!

  2. I read Valley of the Dolls several years ago, and even though it was totally campy (and a bit trashy), I loved it! I even made a point of watching the movie so I could compare them. There ought to be a genre for books that are classics of their generation, even if they’re not exactly classic literature 😉

Many thanks to Jane Bled for the nod!

About Jane Bled

Human. Happy in my solitude. Free of expectations. Awakening. Light side: love, peace, art. Dark side: ****** I despise the word 'follower'. It calls to mind lemmings, sheep, cults, etc. Here to exhibit my art -- not aiming to gain a flock of seagulls that mournfully cry out my name as they fail to reach me.
