Poetry: “Latibule”

Grief-stricken clouds
Cascade cold tears
Like kernels of corn
Against a plastic sieve.

Rainsticks

Flannel-wrapped limbs
Pull me in close;
Smell of apple pie comfort
And drenched blue linen.

Snuggery

Tall navy mug rests
Upon marbled windowsill
Dried tea leaves cling
To the bottom of a well:
Rusted remnants
Of relaxation.

Divination

Autumn secretes
The secrets of change —
Always different;
Ever the same.
Within a latibule
Of undiscovered hours,
Time does not wait —
It waves.

Resignation
